About Contingency Zero
Contingency Zero is a personal emergency planning app for organizing critical information, so trusted contacts can find what matters during illness, disaster, travel disruption, or deployment.
Zero-knowledge design· No AI training on Plan data· Share with trusted contacts
Our Story
Scattered details
Important information often lives in different places. Insurance policies sit in a drawer. Account numbers are saved in a notes app. Medical instructions are in an email from a clinic.
When something goes wrong
During a hospital stay, a wildfire evacuation, or a travel disruption, loved ones can spend hours searching for answers instead of focusing on care.
One organized place
Contingency Zero gives people one private, organized place to prepare ahead of time — who to call, what accounts exist, where documents are stored, and what instructions matter most. It does not predict every emergency; it gives trusted contacts a clearer starting point when something goes wrong.

What We Do
What it helps you organize
Contingency Zero helps you organize contacts, documents, accounts, household details, and other important information into digital binders inside one encrypted Plan.
Share your full Plan or specific binders with trusted contacts when you choose. It is a software tool for emergency preparedness and planning — not a law firm or financial advisor.
Use cases
Disaster preparedness
Insurance, property records, evacuation contacts, and household essentials in one place if physical files are unavailable.
Deployments and high-risk work
Updated information before a shift, trip, or job so people at home know where to start.
Frequent travel
Passports, loyalty accounts, medical notes, and emergency contacts accessible from another device.
Aging parents and caregiving
Shared binders so adult children or caregivers can find instructions without guessing.
Emergency planning support
Storage and organization for wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and the practical details that surround them.
How We Protect Your Data
Privacy is part of the product design, not an afterthought. Contingency Zero uses end-to-end encryption with zero-knowledge architecture. A user’s Plan is encrypted before it reaches Contingency Zero’s servers. Contingency Zero stores the encrypted data but cannot read the private contents of a Plan. Only the plan owner and the trusted contacts they choose can decrypt and read what is shared with them.
No AI training on Plan data. Emergency, legal, financial, and household information in a Plan is not used to train AI models and is not shared with third parties for AI training.
Contingency Zero’s zero-knowledge architecture is patent pending.
What this means in practice
Changes to a Plan are tracked so users can see what changed over time and restore earlier versions when needed.
People invited to view a shared Plan do not need a paid subscription; the plan owner needs an active subscription to enable sharing.
Real people respond to inquiries within two business days through the app or the Customer Support page.
Contingency Zero takes a clear stance on sensitive data: the company should not be able to read a user’s Plan, and users should control who receives access. For full policy details, see our Privacy Policy and the Security section of the FAQ.
